Thoreau School Recreation Program Registration Info

Concord Recreation is excited to be collaborating with the Thoreau School PTG and Administration to take over the facilitation of the before and after school programs starting this spring! You will now be registering with the Concord Recreation Department instead of directly with the school/PTG. Please see the spring offerings below which are now open for registration. Registration information and class details are also available online by clicking here

Before School Sports

Thoreau Before School Sports is a 6 week program open to Thoreau School students, grades 3-5. In our first spring session of Before School Sports, we will be playing some favorite PE class games like "pillow polo hockey", handball, kickball, and more!

Day: Monday, Grade 3

Friday, Grade 4 and 5

Time: 8:00A-8:45A

Dates: Week of April 22-June 3 (6 weeks)

Cost: $80

Fuzzy Felt

Join Mrs. Dillion in her sewing extravaganza! Learn how to sew bags, pillows, stuffed animals, and learn applique. Fun for boys and girls who like to craft.

Day: Wednesday

Grades: 3, 4 5

Time: 3:30-4:30P

Dates: April 10-June 5 *No Class 4/17, 5/27 (7 weeks)

Cost: $60

Hip Hoppers Cardio Blast

A fun, upbeat, high energy Hip Hop Dance Class that promotes coordination, agility and cardio fitness. Each class will be a blast of awesome music, super fun dance moves, games and core strengthening. Each class will end with meditation and healthy goals with our very own H2K Bu-Dog.

Day: Monday

Grades: 1-4

Time: 3:30-4:30P

Dates: April 8-June 3 *No Class 4/17, 5/27 (7 weeks)

Kids’ Test Kitchen

Each week we’ll explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, we’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until we’ve prepared the finished dish. As the weather warms, we are presented with a variety of fresh and delicious ingredients to work with. We’ll be recreating savory favorites and introducing a dessert that pleases the senses and the body! As usual, at the end of class your aspiring chef will receive the main ingredient, or a sample of the finished dish, and the recipe so that they can show off what they’ve learned!

Day: Friday

Grades: 1- 5

Time: 3:30-4:30P

Dates: April 12-June 7 *No Class 4/19 (8 weeks)
