ARTS & REC 2023!
The Umbrella Arts Center has once again partnered with the Concord Recreation Department Summer Camp to offer ARTS & REC a ½ Day Arts Program combined with a ½ Day Recreation Camp!
Looking for SPORTS AND ARTS this summer? This is the perfect program for you!
Campers begin the day with Concord Rec (9:00am–12:00pm) for activities that include free swim, science and nature, music and drama, sports and games, and more. Then join The Umbrella (12:00pm– 4:30pm) for lunch and an afternoon of creative exploration in Drawing & Painting, 2D & 3D Mixed-Media, Ceramics, Arts & Environment, Woodworking, Performing Arts and MORE!
Students enrolled in ARTS & REC will participate in the “All-Camp Field Trips" and "Field Day" activities with the Concord Recreation Department on the days and weeks that they are scheduled.
Ages by Grade:
Group A = Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Group B = 3rd Grade - 6th Grade
Registration Dates & Deadlines: (Registration will open in early February)
Week 1: July 10-14
Week 2: July 17 - 21
Week 3: July 24 - 28
Week 4: July 31 - August 4
Week 5: August 7 - 11
*Programs that are under-enrolled will be cancelled 2 weeks prior to the start date
Late Registration: Registrations will close at 11:59pm EST on Sunday, 3 weeks prior to the start of the next Summer Program Week. Registrations after a deadline date may be accepted on a space available basis with an additional fee of $50. Guardians must contact The Umbrella office by phone or in person and be ready to make payment at the time of registration and complete all of the required camp forms.
Tuition: $475
EXTENDED AM Option with Concord REC: $80 for 5 days, 7:30-9:00am

Tuition Assistance: A limited amount of tuition assistance is offered by The Umbrella through the Babette Newburger Art Education Fund to cover partial tuition costs for families in need. Application and approval are necessary. Awards are made first come, first served on a rolling deadline. Please contact the Education Director at 978.371.0820 ext. 202 for more information.
Drop Off & Pick Up:
Parents/guardians/emergency contact adults are fully responsible for signing in all children at drop off and are responsible for signing out their children at pick up. Campers in ARTS and REC will be dropped off at a designated location at Concord Recreation building at 90 Stow St, Concord and they will be picked up at a designated location at The Umbrella building at 40 Stow Street, Concord.
Special Note: On Field-trip days that are “Full day with Rec” pick up for Arts & Rec children will be at Concord Recreation at 90 Stow Street, Concord. Buses will typically return to 90 Stow Street for the 4pm pick-up. If your child is in Extended Day PM (4:30-6:00pm) with The Umbrella, they will remain at Concord Recreation and join the extended day at Rec. Pick up will be by 6pm at 90 Stow Street.

Camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health. The Umbrella will be following the most up-to-date COVID-19 safety guidelines.
